Mission

The Quebec Board of Black Educators mission is to promote the development of educational services for Black Youth and other youth between the ages of 5 to 25 who reside in the Greater Montreal area.

 

The Quebec Board of Black Educators mission is to promote the development of educational services for Black Youth and other youth between the ages of 5 to 25 who reside in the Greater Montreal area.

 Goals:

Short (1-2 years), medium (2-4 years) and long term (5-7 years) goals

 Short: 

1.    To organize and operate remedial programs to improve academic deficiency

2.    To implement academic programs appropriate to the Black experience and culture within as well as outside the formal educational structure.

3.    To initiate and support educational reform designed to make education more efficient and responsive to the needs of all students particularly the Blacks.

 Medium:

1.    To associate with other organizations sharing similar aims and objectives, with the stipulation that the QBBE maintains its autonomy in decision making and the formulation of policies.

2.    To analyze the various issues pertaining to educational problems and develop concrete solutions aimed at solving these problems.

 Long:

1.    To conduct research in matters relating to educational reform

2.    To publish periodicals and other literature in order to sensitize and inform professionals on matters dealing with Black learners.
